The author couldn't seem to decide whether she was writing an erotic story, love story, or fantasy. And she didn't pull any of them off. The character development was lacking and other than sex, the relationship between the 2 main characters was superficial and unrelatable. The fantasy part was rushed and also not well developed. It was a fast paced, undeveloped mess. I actually think she could have built on the back story and it would have been so much better. In addition she got lazy and used sex instead of building the relationship. The sex scenes were hot but personally I think there was am excessive amount of pain used. Just went too far for my taste. Sara Field's has some good concepts but needs to spend more time developing character, back story, and relationships and the sex scenes should enhance that and not be the cop out for the hard work of writing a good story. This was a great adventure love story.
